Google is celebrating again with a new google doodle logo and this time we can experience an outsider project they’ve made just for 2011 Valentine day which is exactly MapYourValentine.com. The doodle looks stunning and shows the logo with red font while the first O is replaced with a heart.

The doodles save lifes sometimes when peoples in relationships forgets about special events like this, then voila a google search makes them to remember events:) This is again the first Valentine day which google celebrates with a doodle and an external project.

Map Your Valentine Project: Located at http://www.mapyourvalentine.com/, the site looks pretty user friendly with a button where you can map You and your loved one. This is the first time goole links an external project to a special occasion. We’ll see how this works out but the user friendlyness and the millions of lovers worldwide will do the job I think.

Rumors, rumors, rumors. Wonderful, gleaming rumors. Rumors about attractive individuals whose recorded music can be purchased on compact discs. Could anything be better? Why, yes: certainly, follow up rumors are better. Especially when theses follow up rumors contain additional quantities of both juiciness and audacity.

The original rumor, substantiated by photographic evidence: Jessica Simpson’s boyfriend bought her a really, really expensive engagement ring that has a big ruby surrounded by diamonds in it. The above mentioned photographic evidence kills the novelty of the rumor and, as such, new rumors must be found and consumed.

Unless: an additional intrigue may be added to the original rumor, thereby revitalizing it and making it fit for re-consumption.

The follow up, potentially revitalizing, rumor: Jessica Simpson’s boyfriend did not in fact purchase her a really, really expensive ring; instead, Jessica Simpson payed for her really, really expensive ring herself!

Enter the mysterious “source”, “friend”, or “person familiar with the situation” so often dodgily referenced by corporate peddlers of rumors: ”No way could Eric, who doesn’t have a job at the moment, afford to purchase such an expensive ring…Yes, he made a little bit of money in the NFL and is from a wealthy family, but unless his parents helped him out, Jessica must have paid for it herself.”

Do you quiver with rumor fever? Do you gleefully judge Simpson and her boyfriend? Would you refuse to sign their yearbooks?

Without a doubt, this follow up rumor too shall perish, become inert, old, consumed, by tomorrow, inviting the third incarnation of the Jessica Simpson ring rumor. Stay tuned…

Emma Watson talks about nearly quitting “Potter” movies

If somebody else can play Dumbledore, then why not Hermione? OK, so considering the original actor who played Dumbledore died, they didn’t have much choice about replacing him. Secondly, the first Dumbledore was WAY better. So, what would it have been like to see Hermione version 2.0?

Perhaps it no longer matters, as future Harry Potter films will indeed keep Emma Watson as Hermione Granger, but in 2006 when Watson’s contract came up for renewal, the possibility of fans having to deal with a pseudo-Hermione was a real thing. Watson, at the time, had been considering going to university rather than finishing out the series of Harry Potter films. Rather than, because she felt she would simply not have time to do both.

In the end, however, the studio ended up radically altering their shooting schedule in order to make it possible for Watson to do both school and the Potter films. Still, though, for a little while the possibility Hermione would have to be re-cast was very real. “I would have been public enemy #1, I think, if I hadn’t continued,” Watson said. “I did think about that.”

Despite an almost savage split, Watson says that she is very grateful to Warner Brothers for helping her to pursue her education while continuing to do the Potter films. “I feel very lucky,” she said. “Warner Bros. has been very supportive of me keeping this education thing going. I’m very grateful.”

Iran charges German journalists with espionage

Two German journalists who interviewed the son and lawyer of an Iranian woman sentenced to death by stoning, are being charged with espionage by the Iranian government. The two men, who for the time being have been identified simply as as reporter and a photojournalist, were arrested last month in the city of Tabriz after they interviewed the son (and also lawyer) of Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, the Iranian woman much empathized with in the Western media after being sentenced to death by stoning for adultery.

The journalist’s interview, which was more than likely used to highlight Iran’s archaic practice of execution by stoning, has been characterized by propaganda by the Iranian government. ”Their reports and propaganda in Tabriz proved that they are in the country for spying,” said the head of the Justice Department of East Azarbaijan, Malek Adjar Shaffie, according to the Fars News Agency.

According to Iran’s Channel 2, one of the unnamed German men has claimed that they were tricked into entering Iran illegally by the spokeswoman for the German based International Committee Against Stoning, Mina Ahadi. “Mina Ahadi sent me to Iran because she knew she would benefit from my arrest and I’ll sue her when I get back to Germany,” the man said. Ahadi, for her part, has denied the accusation.

In the meantime, a German diplomat from their embassy in Tehran has been given consular access to the two German journalists for the second time, according to a statement released by the German Foreign Office.

Prince William gives mother’s wedding ring away

Perhaps in an attempt to compete with the ruby engagement ring given to Jessica Simpson by some guy, although probably not, Prince William has given his mother’s, that is, Princess Diana’s, wedding ring away. However, unlike this article’s title suggests (in order to get your attention) he did not give it away to just anybody: he gave his late mother’s ring to his now fiancee, who goes by the name of Kate Middleton.

William, apparently no stranger to the English language, had this to say about the ring and about Kate: “It’s [the ring] very special to me. As Kate’s very special to me now, it was right to put the two together,” he said in effortlessly flawless English. It may come as a surprise that William, who is pretty much just a celebrity, did not offer up this information in a semi-literate tweet with FULL CAPS. On the contrary, William, it would seem, can speak.

The ring, although likely having no connection with Jessica Simpson, is surprisingly similar to Simpson’s. In this case, it is a sapphire surrounded by diamonds, rather than a ruby surrounded by diamonds.

Also, in case for some reason you don’t believe what I’m saying, People.com have ingeniously composed an image wherein the same ring can be seen on the finger of both Princess Diana and the soon to be Princess Kate; rock solid evidence is available for any who would doubt William’s capacity for mother-ring-giving.

Kate’s parents said they were very happy their daughter is marrying the Prince of England.

“New” black hole gives scientists opportunity for new studies

A black hole, which has been discovered relatively recently, promises to give astronomers the chance to delve into the black hole phenomenon in ways which have not previously been possible. It will do this, by allowing astronomers to study how a black hole develops from its early days. “If our interpretation is correct, this is the nearest example where the birth of a black hole has been observed,” said a lead researcher from the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics in Massachusetts, Daniel Patnaude.

The black hole is believed to be left over from SN 1979C, a supernova spotted in (you guessed it) 1979 in galaxy M100 (roughly 50 million light years away from the Earth). Although this sounds like a staggeringly far-away distance to the layman, apparently this distance is considered to be within Earth’s “cosmic neighborhood”.

Apparently a black hole, which is a caused by a star collapsing in on itself, and which also represents a gravitational pull so strong that not even light can avoid being sucked into it, cannot be detected by astronomers visually; as such, this black hole was detected by way of an x-ray radiation glow, which was observed between 1995 and 2007.

Although other black holes have been discovered in more distant parts of the universe, this “new” one is notable for being (relatively) close to Earth, as well as for having been spotted so closely to its birth. This discovery may also give astronomers new insights into how giant stars explode, and about which ones cause black holes and why.

Apple to sell Beatles’ music through iTunes

It looks like The Beatles’ music is finally available to be downloaded from iTunes. According to statements released by Apple, it would seem that everything the digital Beatles fan could ever want, from single songs for $1.29 to the entire set of 13 studio albums for $149.

Apple, in order to advertise the event, tries to ride the Beatles’ coattails: “In 1964, the band that changed everything came to America,” advertised their website. “Now they’re on iTunes.” I’m not sure what this is supposed to say about Apple; because a band that had a huge impact on popular music or even popular culture, have had their recorded material appropriated by Apple, who have contributed nothing to anything, Apple is now somehow on a level with this band? Thanks you so much Apple, for being willing to accept money for music that has already been available for decades, and thank you, The Beatles, for making it possible for Apple to sell your music!

Attempts have been made in the past to sell the Beatles through iTunes, but a long-running feud between Steve Jobs’ Apple and the company responsible for the Beatles’ business affairs, which is also called Apple (Apple Corp Ltd, to be exact), over the rights to the Apple name has gotten in the way. “It has been a long and winding road to get here,” said Steve Jobs in a statement. Just so everyone can appreciate how infuriatingly obnoxious that statement is, “The Long and Winding Road” is the name of a Beatles song.

ACLU files lawsuit over “I Heart Boobies” bracelets

A recent trend in spreading breast cancer awareness are rubber bracelets that say “I ♥ Boobies”. The bracelets, created by a California non-profit organization called the “Keep A Breast Foundation”, although their purpose is to promote breast cancer awareness, have been banned by a number of schools who think they are just too saucy.

Recently, two girls from Easton Area Middle School, although their school had banned the bracelets, wore them anyway on October 28th for the schools breast cancer awareness day. The girls were suspended, ironically, for supporting breast cancer awareness on their school’s breast cancer awareness day. The girls’ mothers, apparently not as prudish and easily offended as are their daughters’ school’s staff members, did not think the girls did anything wrong. “We don’t think our girls should be punished for this,” they said, apparently in unison. “We don’t think the bracelets are offensive.” So, the moms, who may telephone as well as speak simultaneously, phoned the American Civil Liberties Union. The ACLU, consequently, are filing a free-speech suit on behalf of the two girls.

There are two sides, besides the simply prudish side of the girls’ school, to consider. One side, the mothers’ and the ACLU’s, is that the bracelets are an innocent way to promote a good cause; namely, awareness of breast cancer. The other side, is to consider the ethics of the growing trend of making breast cancer “sexy” for the sake of promoting awareness of it. Peggy Orenstein, in the New York Times, questions the legitimacy of doing so: “the sexualization of breast cancer. Hot breast cancer. Saucy breast cancer. Titillating breast cancer! Sexy breast cancer tends to focus on the youth market, but beyond that, its agenda is, at best, mushy.”

Is Medicare a killer?

According to the New York Times, a recent study has shown that one out of every seven hospitalized Medicare patients is harmed or even killed because of problems with the medical care they are receiving; many of these problems could easily be avoided or prevented, but for some reason, are not.

The study, conducted by the Office of Inspector General for the Department of Health and Human Services. also said that these “problems” occurring for these one in seven Medicare patients resulted in $44 billion a year in additional government health costs, in addition to roughly 180,000 deaths.

Based on only one month (October of 2008), the study found that 134,000 Medicare patients suffered at least one of these “problems” during their stay at a hospital. The study also said that 44% of these October 2008 problems were “clearly or likely preventable.”

The first question that anyone should be asking themselves who read about this, or about any other health study in the news, is whether or not this study is an objective, non-partisan one. A very large clue that could serve to answer this question, would be knowing where the study received its funding from; for example, if this study, critical of treatment under Medicare, had been funded by a private health insurance company, we could be pretty certain that it was not an objective study. It is probably no coincidence that when news agencies report on health studies, the study’s source of funding is never, ever mentioned. Prior to the revolution, this is unlikely to change.

Brad Pitt’s production company may do trapped Chilean miner flick

Making movies based on attention capturing world events may not be a new thing, but according to reports, Brad Pitt’s production company, Plan B, is interested in buying the rights to do a “33 Chilean miners trapped underground” type of movie. Perhaps the much publicized-ness and empathy inspiring-ness of the event has led the company believe that such a flick would be profitable, but there is also the possibility that Plan B is sincerely interested in bringing that story to the screen. “Like so many people worldwide, Plan B has been incredibly moved by the story of the Chilean miners and their families,” said Jon Liebman, a representative for the company.

In addition to having warm and happy feelings of miner-appreciation in their breasts, Plan B has apparently already talked money with a lawyer representing the miners. This lawyer, Edgardo Reinos Lundstedt, told a local newspaper that Plan B has made an offer in the millions. On the other hand, Liebman told People Magazine that serious discussions have not yet taken place between Plan B and the miners.

This movie version of people getting caught underground, if it does eventually come to be, will not be the first film produced by Pitt’s company; other films produced by Plan B include A Mighty Heart, The Time Traveler’s Wife, Eat Pray Love, and Kick-Ass.

In addition to wealth that could potentially be incurred from selling film rights, the miners may also be seeing big bucks from a lawsuit against the company employing them at the time of the accident.
