It has been officially announced: LeBron James will decide on Thursday where he will be playing during the 2010 – 2011 NBA season.
Many speculators believe LeBron James will stay with the Cleveland Cavaliers, but there are no certainties. His decision was originally thought to be influenced by the decisions of NBA free agents Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh, but that no longer seems to be the case.
The decision by LeBron James will be aired Thursday night at nine o’ clock eastern time on ESPN. He has requested to be allowed to sell sponsorship for the event, with the proceeds being donated to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.
Other teams said to be in the front running for Lebron James include the Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks, New Jersey Nets, and Miami Heat. Based on finances alone, the Cleveland Cavaliers have the salary cap room to offer James the most money.
There are additional factors that will play into LeBron’s decision, but in the end there is no telling where he will end up. Come Thursday night on ESPN, it will be interesting to see the future of one of the game’s most electrifying superstars.
