Prince William gives mother’s wedding ring away

Perhaps in an attempt to compete with the ruby engagement ring given to Jessica Simpson by some guy, although probably not, Prince William has given his mother’s, that is, Princess Diana’s, wedding ring away. However, unlike this article’s title suggests (in order to get your attention) he did not give it away to just anybody: he gave his late mother’s ring to his now fiancee, who goes by the name of Kate Middleton.

William, apparently no stranger to the English language, had this to say about the ring and about Kate: “It’s [the ring] very special to me. As Kate’s very special to me now, it was right to put the two together,” he said in effortlessly flawless English. It may come as a surprise that William, who is pretty much just a celebrity, did not offer up this information in a semi-literate tweet with FULL CAPS. On the contrary, William, it would seem, can speak.

The ring, although likely having no connection with Jessica Simpson, is surprisingly similar to Simpson’s. In this case, it is a sapphire surrounded by diamonds, rather than a ruby surrounded by diamonds.

Also, in case for some reason you don’t believe what I’m saying, People.com have ingeniously composed an image wherein the same ring can be seen on the finger of both Princess Diana and the soon to be Princess Kate; rock solid evidence is available for any who would doubt William’s capacity for mother-ring-giving.

Kate’s parents said they were very happy their daughter is marrying the Prince of England.
