Denture Types And Benefits

A denture is a set of removable prosthesis attached to a gum-colored plastic or metal plate that fits within your mouth. Dentures are false teeth accessible as a viable alternative for those that have lost single or multiple teeth and aren't good candidates for permanent dental implants or fixed bridges.

Frequently referred to as dental plates, false teeth, or falsies, cosmetic dentures are usually fabricated from extremely durable materials and are mounted on gum-colored acrylic base which looks like your normal flesh.

Types of Dentures

1. Complete Dentures: Also called a complete dental plate, these removable prosthetic teeth are secured into the flesh-colored acrylic base that fits directly above your gums and covers the roof (palate) of your mouth. Full dentures are used when you are missing all your pearly whites at the upper (maxillary) and lower (mandibular) arch.

2. Partial Dentures: Cosmetic Dentistry is also removable and continues to be used to fill the gap made by a single or a group of missing teeth.

These replacing teeth are attached to a pink or gum-colored plastic (acrylic) base, which can be connected by a metal frame that retains the prosthetic teeth in place.

3. Overdenture: It's the latest alternative to complete dentures, especially great for people that find it difficult to keep lower dentures in place.

This type of denture is fitted inserted over implants in the lower jaw or sometimes over remaining natural teeth. All these implant-supported dentures help prevent bone loss and provide unrivaled support, stability, and function.
